Rohit Tharani (born August 31, 1984) is a Southeast Asia based creative professional and media executive.[1][2] He also produces, writes, and directs documentaries and series including National Geographic's Science of Stupid and You Have Been Warned Asia on Discovery Channel.[3][4][5]
Career
Tharani spent 9 years with FOX Networks Group Asia in content and creative roles across the region, before joining Discovery, Inc. in 2016 as head of content, driving localisation, strategy, and production.[6] He has since led digital businesses including the Discovery Kids App, Asian Food Network, and currently focuses on streaming service Discovery+ for the Southeast Asia region, with Philippines launching in October 2021 in partnership with Globe Telecom.[7][8][9]
Personal life
Tharani has lived in Indonesia, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Philippines, and in 2016 moved to Singapore, where he is currently based.[10]
In May 2021, Tharani received his purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.[11]
