Ronald A. DiNicola is an American attorney from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Career[edit]

DiNicola enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after graduating from high school.[1][2] While serving in the Marines, he became an intramural boxing champion as a flyweight, winning the North Carolina Golden Gloves while stationed at Camp LeJeune.[1]

After his discharge from the Marines, DiNicola enrolled at Harvard University.[1] He then earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown Law School.[3] DiNicola served as the personal attorney for Muhammad Ali for thirty years, and served as the president and chief executive of Muhammad Ali Enterprises.[4] He also served as the lawyer for Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko.[5][6]

DiNicola ran in the 1994 elections for the United States House of Representatives seat for Pennsylvania's 21st congressional district. He lost the Democratic Party primary election.[7] He ran again in the 1996 elections. He won the Democratic Party's nomination, but lost in the general election to incumbent Republican Phil English.[8] He served as the chair of the Erie County Democratic Party.[9] He represented members of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America against General Electric.[10] During the 2016 Democratic Party presidential primaries, DiNicola served as a delegate for Hillary Clinton.[11]

In the 2018 elections, DiNicola ran for the United States House of Representatives in Pennsylvania's 16th congressional district. He won the Democratic Party's primary election,[12] and lost to incumbent Republican Mike Kelly in the general election by a margin of 52% to 47%.[13]

Personal life[edit]

DiNicola and his wife, Monica, were married in 1996.[4] They have three daughters.[14]
