Ronaldo Rodriguez (born September 6, 1999), known professionally as Rony, is an American rapper from Portland, Oregon. He started making music in 2018 when he was enrolled at Portland Community College and later dropped out. He rose to fame with his June 2020 single "Diamonds On My Neck". And later in 2020, he founded his own record label, RRR Records.[1] [2] [3] [4]

Early life[edit]

Ronaldo Rodriguez was born in Mission Viejo, California. He later moved to Portland in 2005, where he spent most of his early years. Ronaldo attended Southridge High School, graduating in 2018. After graduating from high school, Ronaldo enrolled at Portland Community College, where he later dropped out to pursue music full time.[5] [6] [7]

Rony was interested in music at a young age. At the age of 13, he taught himself how to compose music, and write original lyrics. On June 25, 2020, he released his debut single, "Diamonds On My Neck". And, later in 2020 released single "Red Bottoms". [8] [9]. [10] [11]

Rony lists Kanye West's Graduation (album), Michael Jackson’s Thriller (album), NasLife Is Good (Nas album) and Lil Wayne’s The Carter III as his favorite rap albums of all time. [12] [13]
