Lasse Rantala is one of five founders of Rootz Ltd, an online entertainment company specializing in gambling. Headquartered in Malta, the Mediterranean hub of the iGaming industry, the company appears frequently in local industry news.[1] and has received numerous global industry awards. Rootz Ltd is the original name of the parent company, while five online casino brands operate on the Rootz platform. Rootz secured a licence to operate under the Malta Gaming Authority in 2019, the same year that the company launched Wildz, its flagship online casino brand. Rootz Ltd is sometimes referred to as Rootz Limited or Rootz.
Licences[edit]
Rootz was awarded a Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) Licence in April 2019. The company successfully attained a licence to operate in the regulated German market in September 2022, being one of the first operators to do so. Under Rootz Ltd. the Wildz brand is licensed and regulated by the Joint Gambling Authority of the Federal States (GGL).
In February 2023, Rootz secured a licence to operate in regulated market of Ontario, where relevant Rootz brands may operate gaming activity under the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada under the auspices of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario in conjunction with iGaming Ontario.[5]

Rootz has sponsership deals with 1. FC Union Berlin, FC Ingolstadt 04, Dynamo Dresden, MSV Duisburg, Eintracht Braunschweig and 1. FC Magdeburg.[6]
Regulatory collaboration
In 2023, Rootz CEO Sam Brown spoke at then German Federal Congress on Gaming, commenting on his beliefs around the widespread practices of unregulated entities operating in the German Market.[7][8][9]. Brown has also been cited in EGaming Review commenting on the influence of so-called Grey Market activities.[10]
