Godstime Osaimwenghian Odefe better known by his stage name Rowzzy, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He began his music career in 2014[1], and has featured in more than 100 music videos since that time[2]. Godstime Osaimwenghian Odefe AKA Rowzzy is currently under Obenx Records (popularly called Obenx Records Entertainment), a Nigeria-based music record label and music promoter organization. Godstime Osaimwenghian Odefe AKA Rowzzy recently released his hit song titled TAKE[3]
Early life
He was born on 9 March 1991 in Edo State Benin City. His parents are Rawson Imasuen Odefe and Patience Odefe, and his siblings are Maxwell, Victoria, Bernard, Favor, and Gift. He started his music career in 2014. His mother was a teacher, and his father a church elder. He had a strict upbringing, the second of four children – three girls and one boy. He attended Edo College in Benin for his secondary school. He graduated from the University of Benin where he got a Diploma in Music. He also completed his bachelor's degree program at the University of Benin where he studied English. In 2014, he got a scholarship to study law at National Open University of Nigeria.
Career
His music career started in 2014 with his debut in Prayer For The Street. He was discovered by a producer at the audition he attended. His breakthrough came in 2015 when he sang in World Apart. Up to now, he has appeared in over 100 music videos; he is one of the highest-profile singers in Nigeria and Africa in general.
Political appointment
Godstime Osaimwenghian Odefe AKA Rowzzy was appointed as The Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Culture and Tourism by Udom Gabriel Emmanuel in 2016 and is currently holding the office to date.[4]
