Royal Consort Gwi-in of the Yeongil Jeong clan (Hangul: 귀인 정씨, Hanja: 貴人 鄭氏; August 1520 - 25 March 1566) was a Korean Royal Consort to the King Injong of Joseon.[1]
Jeong was the oldest daughter of Jeong Yu-Chim and Lady of the Juksan Ahn clan. One of her little brother was Jeong-Cheol (정철). When she was 14 years old in 1533, she was chosen as Injong's concubine when he was still a Crown Prince and given rank as Yang-je (rank junior 2 for crown prince's concubine; 양제, 良娣 ). When he ascended the throne, she promoted to Suk-ui (rank junior 2; 숙의, 淑儀) and then become So-ui (rank senior 2; 소의, 昭儀) in 1551 when she was 32 years old after raised Myeongjong's only son, Crown Prince Sunhoe. Later, Jeong become Gwi-in (rank junior 1; 귀인, 貴人) in 1563 when she 44 years old. However, she died at the age 47 years old in 25 March 1566 because of her illness.[2]
