Royal Consort Suk-ui of the Andong Gwon clan (Hangul: 숙의 권씨, Hanja: 淑儀 權氏; ? - after 1519), was a Joseon Dynasty royal consort of Danjong of Joseon.
Biography[edit]
Born into the Andong Gwon clan as the daughter of Gwon Wan, Lady Gwon's name was Gwon Jong-bi (권중비, 權仲非).[1] One of her relatives was Gwon Ram, the entourage of Sejo of Joseon.
In 1454 (2nd year of King Danjong), on January 8 of the lunar calendar, Grand Prince Hyoryeong, Grand Prince Suyang (the future King Sejo), and other family members participated in the process of choosing a consort for the young King Danjong. The process of the ceremony was held at Changdeok Palace. Gwon, Lady Song of the Yeosan Song clan, and Lady Kim of the Andong Kim clan had entered at the same time for the ceremony.[2]
