Ruff Trade is a Manchester based reggae band fronted by singer and guitarist Ryan O'Neill.[1] Formed in 2015 by the then 15 year old O'Neill and 17 year old bassist Jack Gilmore[2], the band have toured around the UK from Stretford[3] to Somerset[1], and is regularly found busking around the Piccadilly and Market Street area in the centre of Manchester, performing a mix of roots tunes, commercial covers and originals, and were featured in Jack Ford's portraits book called 'Busker'[4]. [5][6] The group played in solidarity with the victims of the Manchester terror attacks in 2017[7][8] and have collaborated with notable reggae musicians including Prince Hammer[1] and Golty Farabeau.
