Rufrius Pollio

Rufrius Pollio was Prefect of the Praetorian Guard from 41 to 44 A.D. during the rule of the Roman Emperor Claudius.
He took part in the invasion of Britannia in 43, and for his bravery Claudius awarded him a triumphal statue and granted him a seat in the senate when he was in attendance. Possibly the same person as Rufius Pomfilius, a prefect whom Claudius had put to death.[1][2]
He appears as a ghost in Seneca's play Apocolocyntosis[3] as one of Claudius' victims.
