Ruger known with an Eye Patch[1] is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter who gained fame with his hit song "Bounce" in 2021.[2][3]

Early Life

Micheal Adebayo was born on 17 April 1999 in Cotonou, Benin and grew up there and in Lagos, Nigeria. He was born to Nigerian parents from Kogi. His family moved frequently during his high school years because of his father’s business, and as a result he had a hard time forming close friends.

Having been raised in a music-loving family, his interest in singing stems mostly from his family. At the age of 10, he sang in a high school choir and began writing songs

Career

2018–present: Career beginnings

Ruger has been posting freestyles since 2018 but wasn't recognized until 2021 where he got the opportunity to sign a record deal with Jonzing World[4] a subsidiary of Mavins Record and then release of his first debut viral EP titled PANDEMIC [5]in 2021[6][7]

Eye Patch[8]

Ruger was never blind; he does this as his own culture, saying in an Interview with max FM that he wears an eye patch to respect someone special.[9]
