Ruhin Hossain Prince (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is a Bangladeshi politician and the current General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB). He has been active in left-wing politics for decades and previously served as president of the Bangladesh Chhatra Union, the student wing of the CPB.

Political career

Prince became General Secretary of CPB in March 2022, succeeding Md Shah Alam.[1] Under his leadership, the CPB has emphasized democratic reforms, particularly the reintroduction of a non-partisan caretaker government to oversee elections in Bangladesh.

Prince and the CPB have also opposed proposals to rewrite the constitution, calling instead for reforms based on the original 1972 Constitution of Bangladesh.[2]

In a 2024 interview, Prince warned against the growing influence of imperialist powers in the region, particularly in the context of South Asian geopolitics.[3]

He has also spoken out against corruption and demanded the establishment of a commission to investigate large-scale money laundering and economic crimes.[4]

Recent Activities

Prince participated in policy dialogues with the interim government and the National Consensus Commission in 2024–25, advocating for timely elections under a neutral administration.[5]
