Previous season[edit]

The Golden Eagles finished the season at 21–11 and 13–7 in Big East play to finish in fifth place. They defeated St. John's in the quarterfinals of the Big East women's tournament before losing to UConn in the semifinals.

The highlight of last season was a 59-52 miracle victory over the UConn Huskies on February 8, 2023. It was the first all time victory over UConn, snapping an all-time 16 game losing streak. It was also the first time since 1993 that the Huskies lost two games in a row.
