Ruslan Yevgenyevich Goryukhin (Russian: Руслан Евгеньевич Горюхин; born 02 February 1966 in Odessa, Ukrainian SSR) is a Russian businessman, the former president of the International Ashihara kaikan Karate Association (IAKA) in Russia. He also runs the Impuls Shooting Club.

Early life and education[edit]

Ruslan Goryukhin spent his childhood in Odessa.[1] He graduated from high school in 1982. Later, he studied at the Mechnikov National University and received a diploma in Management of Foreign Economic Activity in 2003.

Business career[edit]

From 1988 to 1997, he managed several light industry companies (Roskhim, Roteks 66, etc.).[1]

From 1997 to 1998, he became the co-founder and the CEO of “Kuznetskie Ferrosplavy”.

From 1998 to 2015, he was the cofounder and the CEO of “Severnye Gazovye Magistrali”. Along with his associates he was involved in the oil and gas pipeline industry.[1] Realizing the need for high-quality logistics in this area, Ruslan Goryukhin created his own logistics group which was working with Lukoil, Tatneft and Gazprom.

From 2007 to 2013, Ruslan Goryukhin became the co-founder of “Promgazresurs Trading House” LLC. The company was specialized in supplying the large diameter pipes for Gazprom.

From 2008 to 2014, Goryukhin was appointed CEO of Stroygazmontazh (SGM),[2][3] since its founding.[4] The company has been ranked second among the companies dealing with the construction of petroleum and gas pipelines in Russia.[5] He left the company in 2014.

From 2013 to 2015, Ruslan led the “Rodnoy Gorod-Development” company. He left the company in 2015.

Since 2015 he mostly focuses on private investments and philanthropy.

Personal life[edit]

Goryukhin is married and has one son and 4 daughters.

Hobbies, sport achievements and other activities[edit]

From 2007[3][6] to 2019 he served as president of the International Ashihara kaikan Karate Association (IAKA) in Russia. He is a 1st Dan-ranked practitioner and a Master of Sports.[7]

In 2017 Goryukhin opened[8] the Impuls Shooting Club. He has an advanced level of competency in shooting.[9]

His hobbies and activities include rock-climbing, hiking, trekking.[1]

Philanthropy and initiatives[edit]

In 2012 under Goryukhin's sponsorship construction of the Odessa orphanage was completed.[10]

In 2014 he was the head of the charitable foundation “Sozdaem Buduschee".[11][10] This foundation focuses on helping socially and economically disadvantaged groups as well as organisations carrying out the socially important projects.

Over the years he has financially supported the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia (FEOR) and the Jewish Community “Chabad Odessa”. The building of the orphan house for girls in Odessa[10] is sponsored by Goryukhin. During the coronavirus outbreak, he financed the purchase of the medical equipment for the hospital in Odessa. Moreover, being a sponsor Goryukhin provided financial support the school “Or Menakhem” in Moscow while switching to a distance learning.[11][10]

Awards and public recognition[edit]

In 2010 Goryukhin received the Award for contributions in developing petroleum and gas infrastructure.[3][12]

In 2010 and in 2012, he was twice honored as “Ecologist of the year” in the competition “100 best companies of Russia”.

In 2012, he was elected to the committee of the European Business Congress.[3]

He was also head of the Association of the Oil and Gas Equipment Manufacturers’ Association which was established with Gazprom support.
