Russ Hudson is an American cannabis researcher and writer.[1][2][3] He is the author of several books, including The Big Book of Terps: Understanding Terpenes, Flavonoids, Synergy in Cannabis,[4] Weed Deeds: From Seed to Sage,[5] and a children's book What's That Weed.
Early life[edit]
Hudson is originally from Boston, Massachusetts.[6] Hudson was orphaned as a toddler and spent a significant part of his early life homeless.[5][7] He began selling marijuana on the street at a young age.[5][8] On several instances, he was arrested and imprisoned for cultivating and trafficking marijuana.[5][7]
Career[edit]
Around the time of marijuana's legalization, Hudson joined the cannabis industry as a consultant.[7] He eventually moved to Barcelona, Spain because of its many private cannabis social clubs.[1][7][9] He has served as a consultant and booker for Barcelona cannabis clubs since 2013.[2][10][11]
Hudson also founded the entertainment website Marijuana Games in 2013.[12] Hudson has written material for publications such as his website Marijuana Games[13][14] and Vice.[15] He was also profiled in a Vice video news story in 2016.[3]
Hudson published his autobiography, Weed Deeds: From Seed to Sage, in 2017.[5]
Hudson also published the book The Big Book of Terps: Understanding Terpenes, Flavonoids, and Synergy in Cannabis in 2021.[4]
Hudson has been interviewed by publications such as Boulder Weekly,[16] Leafly,[17] and The Local.[9]
