Ruth Kissane (1929-1990) was an American animator and director.[1][2] She was best known for her work on the Peanuts specials,[3][4] in particular A Charlie Brown Christmas.[5]

Biography[edit]

Ruth Kissane was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on 10 January 1929, the youngest of four children to Mr and Mrs Hugh Kissane, both teachers.[6] She attended the Cleveland Institute of Art,[7] and then moved to California in the mid 1950s, where she began working for Walt Disney.[6]
