Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Engineering and Technology (also called SDMCET) is an autonomous private engineering college located in Dharwad in the state of Karnataka, India. It was established in 1979 and is affiliated to Visveswaraiah Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, Karnataka. The institution is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).[2] The college is located at Dhavalagiri in Dharwad city. SDMCET is considered to be one of the top engineering institutes of the state.
The institute contains 17 academic departments and awards undergraduate, graduate and post graduate degrees. Established in 1979, it is one of the first self-financed colleges in India.[3]

On 25 January 2024 Dr. Ramesh L. Chakrasali was appointed as the next principal of SDM College of Engineering and Technology (SDMCET) succeeding Dr. K. Gopinath. He will be taking office on 1 February 2024.

Insignia is an annual National level techno-cultural fest, with thousands of students across India participating in over 60 events held over three days annually.[6]
Insignia is conducted generally between 2-3 days every year. It is the largest college fest in the entire North Karnataka region.

Campus
SDMCET campus is spread over 72 acres (290,000 m2).
The campus also has a Ganesh temple (worship place) within the campus.
The library is centrally located in the campus, housed in an independent building having a plinth area of over 2500 Sq mtrs, with a total seating capacity of 550 students at a time. The library is automated by using EASYLIB-Library management software. It is a multi-user package for effective management of a library from all aspects. The online catalogue of the library and the e-resources can be accessed on the campus network. The library subscribes to nearly 121 Technical Periodicals and more than 8600 International e-journals from IEL, Springer Link, Taylor and Francis, Science Direct and ProQuest. In addition, there are more than 2000 bound volumes of journals, 2500 CD's & DVD'S, & IS Standards.
The college has sports facilities that include outdoor and indoor sports, and a new indoor sports complex was inaugurated in 2023 for badminton, tennis, table tennis, carrom, chess and many other indoor games.
