Charles Tochukwu Charles-Fredrick (born 22 May 2004), known professionally as SSENMELO, is an English Christian hip-hop and rap artist from Manchester.[1] He began releasing music during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 and, by 2025, had accumulated more than 70 professional songwriting and production credits.[2]
Early life
Charles-Fredrick was born in Manchester on 22 May 2004. In interviews he has described the 2020 lockdown as a “wilderness season” (a reference to Hosea 2:14) that catalysed his songwriting.[1]
Career
SSENMELO debuted in 2020 with independently distributed singles. His sound, which he summarises as “worship meets raw authenticity”, blends scripture-inspired lyrics with contemporary rap production.[1]
A feature in the online music magazine BetterAud highlighted his 2023 mixtape *X Corp*, noting that the project “reached thousands of listeners and strengthened his growing community”.[3] Another review on Bitgog echoed the growing audience reach and described him as “part of False Entertainment’s new wave”.[4]
As of June 2025, Muso.ai ranked him in the top 5 percent of credited songwriters for the week of 30 May – 5 June 2025.[2] His catalogue is distributed to major streaming platforms, including Apple Music and Shazam, where releases such as “24 Songs ReVamp” (with scaletta) and his album *memento mori* are listed.[5][6]
Collaborations
SSENMELO frequently partners with the artist scaletta, sharing more than seventy joint credits.[7] Other collaborators include lifelessgarments and Jvlian Dvran.

In 2022 SSENMELO founded Praedexa.com, a platform he describes as a “digital city on a hill” for Christian creatives, housing his discography and multimedia content.[9]
Personal life
SSENMELO’s music is heavily informed by his Christian faith. He often quotes scripture in interviews and has stated that his goal is “to make His name famous”. Despite “church shyness”, he has expressed interest in leading live worship nights.[1]
