Education and career[edit]
Manaa was born to an Iraq family in Mosul, Nenava, Iraq, grew up and attended school primarily in Al-Rashad Primary School, Mosul. He completed all of his high school in wathba Intermediate School,Mosul. He attended Al-SharqyaSecondary School,Mosul , and graduated in 1980 . He obtained his B.Sc. from study in the Department of Mathematics, College of Science, The University of Mosul, Iraq in 1984. Then he got his M.Sc. from study in the Department of Mathematics, College of Science, The University of Mosul, Iraq in 1989. Manaa went on to pursue graduate studies at Nan Kai University, where he completed a doctoral dissertation titled "A kind of Upwind Finite Element Method for Numerical Reservoir Simulation" under the supervision of " " and received his Ph.D. in 2000, He was a visiting scholar at the Mosul University in 1991, and at Duhok University in 2010. He appointed as a tenured Full Professor in 2011.
