Sabé (also known as Tsabin) is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, first appearing in Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace. Portrayed by Keira Knightley, she is Padmé Amidala's former handmaiden and decoy, who disguised herself as the queen to protect her from the Invasion of Naboo and other threats. Many years after Padmé's death, Sabé and ally Tanro change their identities in order to begin an investigation as to how Amidala died. By doing so, she seeks Darth Vader, believing him to be connected to her queen's untimely death, and seeks revenge upon him.[1]

Sabé's reception has remained mostly positive among critics. She became a fan-favorite in the prequel series, receiving numerous pieces of merchandise mostly under the name "Amidala." The character reappeared prominently in the canon 2020 comic book series Star Wars: Darth Vader by Marvel Comics.[1] In an interview with Keira Knightley, who played the character in the prequel trilogy, she revealed that she had forgotten which character she played, and assumed she played the part of Padmé Amidala.[2]
