The Sabbath of vision, or black sabbath, is the sabbath day on which Isaiah chapter 1 is read in synagogues, predicting the judgement and desolation of Jerusalem. It occurs in midsummer during the nine days, immediately preceding Tisha B'Av, the 10th day of the month of Av.
