Said Zafar oglu Jafarov (Azerbaijani: Səid Zəfər oğlu Cəfərov) was an Azerbaijani military officer. He was serving in the military as a sergeant major.
Early life[edit]
Said Jafarov was born on 4 February 1992, in Xol Qarabucaq, Neftchala District of Azerbaijan.[1]
Military service[edit]
Said Jafarov served in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in 2011–2012. Since 2013, he has been a full-time military serviceman. In 2013–2014 he served in the "N" military unit of the Internal Troops in Ganja, in 2014-2017 in the "N" military unit in the Qazax region, and in 2017 in the "N" military unit in Baku. Said Jafarov was Chief Sergeant of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, during the battles in the direction of Murovdağ on September 27, 2020 during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war. Said Jafarov died on November 9, 2020 while performing a combat mission in the battles of Shusha.
Awards[edit]
- Jafarov was awarded the For Fatherland Medal for the second time on 15 December 2020, by the decree of the President Ilham Aliyev.[2]
