According to old Aloysians, the 1st board of prefects were appointed in 1971, And before 1971 the house captain was in-charge of students’ discipline of each respective house.
The first known Head Prefect was “’Neil Daluwatte””, Who was appointed in 1971.
Here below you can see a photo of the earliest prefects, who were appointed in the academic year of 1973. According to official information, cameras were not used in day to-day life about until 1973.
• Our blazers. According to resources, the first blazer style which was used is a Green background and two golden stripes of a special shade.
• According to confirmed information this blazer was officially used from 1932’s color’s awarding system at SAC, Until 1995 Centenary Year.
• The green blazer, which is used up to date, Was introduced in 1995-SAC’s Centenary, To differ prefects from other students, there is a special golden line around the blazer.
• Nowadays, you can see “PREFECT” embroidered above the crest.
