Sajilo
Sajilo is a Nepal-based ride-sharing platform launched in April 2022.[1][2] The service provides two-wheeler and taxi rides and is headquartered in Kathmandu, Nepal. Sajilo was co-founded by entrepreneur Amir Lama and airline captain Vijay Lama.[3]
History
Sajilo was introduced in 2022 as a domestic alternative to international ride-hailing services operating in Nepal.[4] The company temporarily paused its operations in 2023 for technical upgrades and relaunched in 2024 with updated security features and an improved app interface.[5]
Services
Sajilo provides on-demand rides through its mobile applications for Android and iOS.[6] In addition to bike and cab rides, the platform includes:
- Spot booking – allowing offline rides to be logged into the system for insurance coverage.[7]
- Manual ride booking by phone – when internet is unavailable, users can call Sajilo’s support team to arrange rides.[8]
- Insurance coverage – all rides are insured in partnership with Shikhar Insurance.[9]
Reception
Sajilo has been covered by several national media outlets, including Khabarhub, Bizmandu, Setopati, TechPana, and Nagarik News.[10][11][12][13] The platform has also been featured in televised and online interviews.[14]
