Saakpenwa lies close to the towns of Chara and Botem.
It is among one of the oil producing communities located in Rivers State. Sakpenwa as the headquarter of Tai Local Government Council has a Customary court in the community.[2] Sakpenwa community which is under Tai Local Government Area is grouped under the Rivers South East Senatorial District with Senator Barinaada Mpigi as its representative.[3]
Sakpenwa is on the latitude 4° 43' 0" N and on the longitude 7° 15' 46" E.[4]
