Salliarkal.[1] or Salliyarkal[2] is a semi fictional Tamil feature film written and directed by Kittu, produced by Karunas. The film is about how medicine was viewed on the battlefield of Tamil Eelam and the Tamil doctors who worked there.[3] and uphold them moral while treating the wounded.

Plot[edit]

The plot is about how Doctors are saving the lifes in the battlefield. Major part of the movie filmed in a bunker which was made specifically to bring the realistic visual[4].

Meaning of Salliyarkal[edit]

During Rajendra Cholan era his army had medical unit. In that the doctors who treat wounded and do the surgery are called Salliyarkal (Tamil: சல்லியர்கள்). Reference to this mentioned in the Thirumukkoodal stone scripts[5]

Cast[edit]

The new comer Satya Devi plays the role of Dr.Nandhini the lead character of the movie.[6]. Karunaas acting as father of the Dr.Nandhini. Thirumurugan acting as enemy army leader. Mahendran acting as Dr.Chembiyan.
