Sam Feuer (/ˈfɔːjər/)[2] is an American-Israeli film producer and actor. His film credits include the 5-time Academy Award nominated film Munich, the award-winning The First Grader and the Sundance winning documentary The Green Prince. Feuer was nominated twice for the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Motion Picture for his film The First Grader.[citation needed]
Early life and career[edit]
Feuer was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and learned to perform from an early age. After serving three years in the Israeli Air Defense Force, he moved back to the United States to attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington, but graduated from Hunter College with first class honors and started his professional life acting in commercials and TV/Soaps. An eye witness to the 9/11 tragedy, Feuer packed up and moved to Hollywood, where he met casting director Mali Finn and was cast in the TV show The It Factor: Los Angeles (along such actors as Jeremy Renner) and immediately landed a role on the international hit show JAG.
His success followed with more roles on such shows as The Bernie Mac Show and Strong Medicine, but his "big break" came just after a bit-part in Miss Castaway and the Island Girls featuring Michael Jackson, when he was discovered by Steven Spielberg and cast as Yossef Romano in the highly acclaimed, much talked about film Munich, which was nominated for 5 Academy Awards, including Best Picture.[3]
