Samarth Jurel (born April 30, 2001) is an Indian actor, cricketer and a former model. He is known for portraying the roles of Nikhil Kapoor on Udaariyaan and Harsh Tiwari on Zee TV's Indian series Maitree.[1]
Early life[edit]
Samarth was born in Indore, India to parents Mukesh Jurel. His family consists of his parents and older brother Teerth Jurel. He studied at The Emerald Heights International School, graduated from DAVV University earning a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and took an acting course from Mumbai Film School.
Growing up, he followed the footsteps of his father by pursuing a career in cricket in 2018 and went on to win two awards in the category of "Player of the Match" and "Best Batter" in 2022.[2]
Career[edit]
To pursue his modeling and acting career Samarth moved to Mumbai. He began his modeling career in 2019 by appearing in a few modeling campaigns.
Acting[edit]
In 2021, he began his acting career by appearing in an episode of Prem Bandhan, followed by two episodes of the TV series Anupamaa as Rahul.[3] A year later in 2022, he landed three web-series Mission Indore, Taftish and Bandra.[4] In the same year, he bagged his first reality show MTV Splitsvilla as a wild-card entry,[5] and a small role in "Naagin". Next he was cast in the TV series Udaariyaan season 2 as Nikhil Kapoor.[6] In early 2023, he booked the lead role of Harsh Tiwari on Indian soap opera Maitree that aired on Zee TV.[7] In October 2023, he joined the reality show Bigg Boss (Hindi season 17) as a wildcard entry,[8] after declining the offer back in August when he was first approached for the show.[9] On January 14, 2024, just 2 weeks away from the grand final, he was evicted from the show because of low votes, therefore finishing his journey in 9th place.[10]

Samarth plays for the Cricket team Red Raptors. on March 17, 2024, they won their first match.
Personal life[edit]
Samarth is in a relationship with his former Udaariyaan co-star Isha Malviya since September 2022.[11][12]
