Sameer Dua
Introduction:
Sameer Dua (born 14 March 1975) is an Indian leadership expert, founder of Institute for Generative Leadership, India, founder of Gift Your Organ Foundation, philanthropist, and an author.
Sameer began working at the age of 17 with his father, Dr. Giri Dua, in an institution that Dr. Giri Dua set up. Sameer has wide experience in management and leadership education, and is committed to transforming the lives of people around the world.
Early life:
Hailing from Mumbai, Sameer went to St. Stanislaus School till his 10th grade. He then moved to MMK College for 11th and 12th. Sameer’s family moved to Pune in 1992. Sameer graduated in Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Commerce from Business Administration and Management, General from Savitribai Phule Pune University in 1995. He went on to do Master of Commerce, Business Administration and Management, General from University of Pune and got the degree in 2000.
Career:
Sameer Dua has worked with various national and multinational corporations in training and developing their top/middle-level management as part of the management programmes delivered by his institution.
He acted as a Joint Managing Director at TASMAC[1][2][3] (Training and Advanced Studies in Management and Communications Ltd.) for 19 years and 11 months from 1992 to 2012, overlooking and strategising business activities in Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata and London campuses.
With an inclination towards supporting people to lead a life full of joy, success and fulfilment, Sameer Dua founded Gift Your Organ Foundation[4] [5][6] in February 2011. The not-for-profit organisation works towards creating awareness and educating people on organ donation and transplantation.[7][8][9]
In association with the Karnataka State Government[10] [11] and the Maharashtra State Government[12], the organisation runs the Green Heart Driver's License project. Ever since this project has been introduced, year on year, there has been a 100 per cent increase in the number of organ donors in the state of Karnataka.[13]
Sameer worked with S P Jain Institute of Management and Research as a Strategic Consultant in 2012-13.
With focus on developing leadership skills through practices, Sameer Dua founded The Institute for Generative Leadership, India in February 2013. The generative leadership institute was established in association with the Institute for Generative Leadership, USA.
The Institute for Generative Leadership, India was founded to provide leadership, management development and education that strengthens the impact of already successful leaders and managers, improves organisational performance, and produces a positive impact in the world.
Apart from this, Sameer Dua has done several training, coaching and consulting projects with organisations of different industries. Some of his clients include Mercedes-Benz, Siemens, NetApp, T-Systems, John Deere, BMC Software, Cosmos Co-operative Bank, Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd (The Times of India Group), Allscripts, Persistent Systems, Amdocs, Tech Mahindra, Dana, Cargill, Cognizant, among many others. He is also a leadership faculty member for the Naval Higher Command Course at the Naval War College, Goa.
He also keeps on taking up roles as a keynote speaker, and regularly speaks at business off-sites, industry consortiums and business clubs, and was invited to a TEDx talk[14] in Mumbai, where he spoke on ‘Declaring Breakdowns’.
He also participated in Horasis India Meeting, held in Malaga, Spain in June 2018, to talk about ‘Setting the Agenda – India’s Future of Work’.[15]
Sameer serves as an advisor to the FreeBasics Group, Canada and is also a core member of The Advisory Council of the Hope Foundation and Research Centre (Hope Foundation)[16] which has been set up to provide the right impetus to their educational and research divisions to strengthen the academic, research and development in India.
He was an advisor to a top-ranked and a leading business school in Asia. He was also the Founding Chairman of the Bangalore Chapter of the Higher Education Forum and also the Vice Chairman of the Emerging Presidents’ Group.

Sameer Dua started his journey as an author in 2016 with Declaring Breakdowns-Powerfully creating a future that matters, through 6 simple steps,[17][18] [19][20] which went on to feature in the Top 50 Popular Organisation Design Books on Goodreads. The book is about mastering the art and science of generating breakthroughs in each area of our lives.[21][22] The book has also been translated in Hindi, titled Viram Ki Ghoshna;[23] and in Marathi, titled Viramachi Ghoshna[24] owing to its popularity.
His second book, published by Harper Collins Publishers, the number 1 publishing company in the world, “Become-The 5 critical conversational practices that shift ‘who you be’ as a leader”[25][26] came out in December 2017, and attained the bestselling position within a few hours of its release. Within the first 6 hours of its release, it became a bestseller on Amazon[27]. In addition, it was judged as #1 Bestseller in Business Communication, #1 Bestseller in Economics Text Books, #1 Hot New Release in Business Communication, #1 Hot New Release in Economics and #1 Movers and Shakers on Amazon India.

Personal life:
Sameer Dua is married to Tina Agarwal. Tina and Sameer are parents to Ashna Dua, and twins – Ayaan Dua and Anaaya Dua. In 2011, Tina and Sameer’s marriage hit a rough patch and his wife moved out with their then only daughter. It was about the same time Sameer's London’s institution went into liquidation and he had to sell his India institutes.
Sameer along with 6 other friends set up The 5AM Club, which helped each one of them resurrect their lives and careers. Today, many of Sameer’s coachees and program participants operate their own 5AM Clubs and have received immense success through this practice.
At present, he leads a happy and successful life with his wife and children.
