The Samper family is an aristocratic and powerful Colombian family that has been very influential in the political, social, economic, literary, and artistic fields for almost three centuries in Latin America. The Colombian branch of the family, and the most important, has had a candidate for the presidency; Miguel Samper Agudelo in 1898, and finally a president; Ernesto Samper Pizano for the period between 1994 and 1998. In the same way, it has had several diplomats, artists, journalists, writers, businessmen, and scientists.[1][2][3][4]
