Samu Hietainen is a Finnish composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer born in Finland.[1] He is also known as the only member and songwriter of alternative rock band Heart Tide.[2]

Career[edit]

Heart Tide[edit]

Heart Tide was formed in 2018 by Hietainen. The outfit started by releasing two EP-length mixtapes Vulnerable (Part One) and Vulnerable (Part Two) before releasing standalone single Blame. Since 2019, Heart Tide has released the standalone singles Few Things, They Say, Where Do We Go? and Miss Your Calls. For the last one, they also released a remix EP named Miss Your Calls (Mood Remixes).[3]

Solo[edit]

Hietainen began his solo career in 2019 by working as a sound designer and composer on short films[4], before releasing music under the SVMU Releasing banner, the music mostly consisting of ambient and classical music, or mix of the two. In late 2022, his output has added Luminosité collection, featuring five different versions of the track including a track where he's debuting as a solo singer[5], as well as horror-themed EP Baby, Let's Go See A Really Disturbing Horror Picture.
