José Samuel Pozo Urzúa (8 September 1867 – 17 January 1916) was a Chilean lawyer and politician who served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile.
Born in Talca, he was the son of José Miguel Pozo Gaete and Valentina Urzúa Vergara, and the brother of deputy José Manuel Pozo Urzúa. He studied humanities at the Seminary and the Liceo de Talca, and in 1892 obtained a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Chile. He qualified as a lawyer on 30 June 1893 and subsequently practiced law in Talca.[1]
A member of the National Party, Pozo was elected deputy for Talca for the 1912–1915 legislative period and joined the party's parliamentary committee. During this term, he served on the Permanent Commission of Public Assistance and Worship. He was also co-author of the bill that became Law No. 2731 of 1913, concerning import duties on wooden matches.
Pozo was reelected for Talca for the 1915–1918 legislative period. During his second term, he served on the Permanent Commission of Government and the Fifth Commission of Elections.
He died in San Clemente on 17 January 1916 while still serving as a deputy. He was succeeded by fellow National Party member Manuel Herreda Concha on 2 March 1916.
