San Diego County Philatelic Library
The San Diego County Philatelic Library is a not-for-profit philatelic library in Escondido, San Diego County, California.
The library was formed by the San Diego Philatelic Council in the 1970s with the profits from the annual SANDICAL Stamp Show[1] and the Council is located at the library premises.
It was originally based in City Heights, then in Allied Gardens but in 2009 moved outside the San Diego city limits to Escondido after renting premises at Felicita Village.[2]
Status[edit]
The library is sponsored and supervised by the San Diego Philatelic Council and its board of directors and is exempt from tax as a non-profit organization under U.S. Internal Revenue code provision 501(c)(3).[3]
Collections[edit]
The library has an extensive collection of over 6,000 books, catalogs, monographs and ancillary items.
Journal[edit]
The library issues a newsletter, The Philatelic Reader.
