Sana'a Shaik is a South African actress. She is known for her roles in the film 2067 (2020) and the series Reckoning (2020).
Early Life[edit]
Shaik was born and raised in Durban, South Africa. She is of Indian, English, Egyptian, and Arab descent. She attended Crawford College, La Lucia. Her family relocated to Perth, Australia in 2008 where she completed her secondary education at Applecross Senior High School the following year. She went on to graduate from Curtin University in 2013.
Career[edit]
Shaik's acting career began in 2014, during which she appeared in the feature film Real Friends, the short film Bee Keepers, and the television series It's a Dole Life. The following year, she appeared in the television series Abandoned, and the short films Code Grin and Fear, Death and the Universe.[citation needed]
In 2020, Shaik starred in the Netflix series Dive Club;[1] the Netflix mini-series Reckoning (Sony Pictures Television);[citation needed] and the sci-fi feature film 2067, opposite Kodi Smit-McPhee (X-Men, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes).[2][3]
Shaik’s feature film lead role debut came with Nomad, slated for release in 2021. From over 28,000 submissions received by casting,[4] Shaik won the role of “Nellie", starring alongside Leo Woodall as “Ben”. The film’s official plot outline is: “A stifled city girl discovers a mysterious nomad with a bizarre condition that rips them inexplicably across every corner of the earth.
