"Sana gurban" is an Azerbaijani song by Alekper Taghiyev with lyrics by Mikayil Mushfig. It was first released in 1968 by Zeynab Khanlarova.[citation needed]
An Armenian version of the song, "Karoun Karoun," was released in 1973 by Lebanese-Armenian singer Adiss Harmandian.[citation needed]
A song with a similar melody was sung in 2012 during anti-government protests in Syria, with protestors replacing the original text from the song "Fatoum Fatoum" from Sah Al-Noom with demands for country leadership resignation.[1]
