Sandeep Ahuja
Sandeep Ahuja is an American architect, building‑science consultant, and technology executive. She is the co‑founder and chief executive officer of Cove, an AI‑powered architecture firm based in Atlanta that grew out of the building‑performance software company cove.tool.[1][2] She was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 (Energy) in 2020[3] and co‑authored Build Like It’s the End of the World (Wiley, 2024).[4]
Early life and education
Ahuja grew up in a diplomatic family and spent parts of her childhood in Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Tanzania.[5] She later studied high‑performance buildings at the Georgia Institute of Technology.[5]
Career
Pattern R+D
After working in architectural practice, Ahuja co‑founded Pattern R+D, a building‑science consultancy focused on integrating performance analysis earlier in the design process.[5]
cove.tool and transition to architecture services
In 2017, Ahuja co‑founded cove.tool, developing cloud tools to estimate energy use, daylight, and cost for building projects.[5] The company later expanded from software to a full‑service, AI‑enabled architecture practice—Cove Architecture—integrating its tools into project delivery.[2]
Cove Architecture and AI framework
Reporting in 2025 described Cove as “a full‑service architecture firm” using a proprietary AI framework; Ahuja said the firm aims to deliver faster, better‑coordinated projects across multifamily, hospitality, retail, data centers, and warehouses.[1] Trade‑press coverage detailed a two‑part framework that analyzes zoning and codes (Vitras.ai) and generates coordinated 3‑D models (ARK_BIM).[6] Ahuja and collaborator Patrick Chopson have also discussed AI’s role in architecture in design media.[7]
