[2]

Khan ran a coding educational website called TeachMeCode, where students would upload coding video tutorials catered to people their own age. This idea was an instant hit gathering thousands of viewers on the website. This idea later transition into Kodezi, an automated code debugging tool. In early 2022, khan received an initial venture capital funding to pursue Kodezi further.

Early life and education[edit]

Childhood[edit]

Khan grew up in Florida, after moving from Bangladesh in 2011. He and his family moved to the States when he was 11. From an early age, programming fascinated him regardless he grew up in a small town with limited access to technology. The finances of his family were also tight since they did not make a lot of money. It further made the situation pretty challenging for him as he also had to keep an eye out for the monetary well-being of himself and his family.

Despite limited options, he became fascinated with technology and created his first website when he was 10. At that time, he was merely in 5th grade, but the website he built was not an automated one from Weebly. It was built from scratch and had all the latest options and sophistication. He started teaching himself programming at quite an early age, and by the time he was 13, he had already learned to code in Java, HTML, and Python and was getting good at them with every passing day and every iteration. Having to learn programming from lengthy books was a challenge growing up. The limited access to some fancy coaching and high-end tech gadgets made it even worse.

Highschool[edit]

In 2018 Ishraq enrolled at Seminole High School, in the IB program. During his time he spent developing the original protypes of Kodezi, while competing at various club competitions where he placed 1st in programming for 3 consecutives years. He took 3rd place at a Google Hackathon outside of school.

Ishraq graduated from Seminole High School in May of 2022, shortly after graduating he received he raised his pre-seed round for Kodezi.

Career[edit]

Starting TeachMeCode (2017-2021)[edit]

The website started when Ishraq realized that there was an influx of demand for learning to code and program, yet all the courses were being taught on paid websites. He noticed that all of the YouTube videos had one thing in common, lengthy tutorials made by teachers. He introduced “TeachMeCode” as a website prototype and presented it to his school.

The website “TeachMeCode” grew exponentially with over 10,000 active users during the first month of launch. Hundreds of hours of videos were watched and uploaded. Most of the site’s success resulted from YouTube and word of mouth. Later, the website began to overload with data and many more issues came to the fore. He then went on to focus on his studies and leave the concept of TeachMeCode.

In 2020, Ishraq began recoding his website structure, renaming it and completely rebranding the concept. He renamed it Kodezi, Coding made easy. This name saw huge success as he created his site, he instantly gained popularity back from his original followers of TeachMeCode on his social media. He then started working on making his venture big by getting investors to support his idea and by working on the brand image of the company.

Working on Kodezi(2021–Present)[edit]

In late 2021, TeachMeCode was pivoted into Kodezi. Ishraq began focusing on transitioning his side-project idea into a real startup by allowing users to automatically debug code on the site. Focusing full-time on Kodezi in early 2022 after receiving venture funding of $800,000 in his pre-seed round.[3]

Kodezi launched public beta in March, with its posting on ProductHunt. Kodezi gained over 100,000 users in less than 6 months of launch, while being featured on major news publications in Bangladesh during Ishraq's travel to Bangladesh. Ishraq gave various interviews whilst speaking about the future plans of Kodezi. [4]
