Sandy Cohen (born 1980 in Israel) is a New York City and Hamptons based[1][2][3] self-taught artist, painter and digital artist. Cohen, a LGBTQ+ artist and activist[4], completed her High School studies at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School. She fell seriously ill at the age of nineteen, was bedridden for five years and still struggles with Dysautonomia and ME/CFS. In 2017, after endless trial and error health treatments, Cohen re-emerged on to the art scene.[5] She is known for vibrant and varied works which is a reflection of the world around her.[6] She combines pop culture with political and social commentary. [7] In 2021 she launched a sweatshirt collection in collaboration with the German journalist and Wall Street expert Markus Koch (Journalist) [de] [8]. Cohen successfully launched her first NFT in 2021 on opensea.oi[1][5]. Her art piece titled 'Gay AF' was one of the most photographed pieces at the Hamptons Fine Art Fair 2021. [2]
