Sanket Mhatre is an Indian voice actor from Mumbai, India. He has done voice acting for many Hollywood, Telugu and Tamil films. He is one of the well known voice artists in the Hindi dubbing industry.[2] He does dubbing and voice acting in Hindi.[3]
Early life
Mhatre is from Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is a Maharashtrian.[3] He likes reading, writing and video capturing. [4] He is associated with ' The play makers' theatre group. Some of his short films are selected for film festivals. Marathi is his native language.[5] From his college days he was interested in theatre. He had established a 'Band jamming and Voice studio'.[6]
Voice acting career
Mhatre is a famous voice actor in the Hindi dubbing industry. According to Sanket, he became a voice actor by accident; he used to run a dubbing studio in Mumbai, but once his client came for dubbing his project, the voice artist signed to dub didn't show up. The client was desperate to dub his product, so Sanket tried to dub, and he dubbed a parrot's voice. The client liked it, and gradually more films and shows came to him for dubbing. He dissolved his studio and began focusing on voice acting and voice over. He learnt the dubbing, voice acting and voice over work while doing it.[6] He does dubbing in Hindi. So far he has dubbed for 20 superheroes. He did Hindi dubbing for the title character Ben for the animated series Ben 10, and lent 11 voices for aliens in Ben 10. He provided the English voice for Jaggu Monkey of Chhota Bheem.[3]
He did Hindi voice acting for Hollywood movies such as Hawkeye, Captain America of the Marvel cinematic universe, and for Avengers: Endgame, Shazam, The Dark Knight Rises. He did dubbing for Brad Pitt in Inglourious Basterds's Hindi version.[7] His first dubbed Hollywood movie is Green Lantern (2011).[4] He lent his voice for Matt Damon's lead character in The Martian. Mhatre also does dubbing for Jamie Oliver for TLC channel's show.[4]
He dubbed for Jr.NTR, Allu Arjun, Naga Chaitanya. He dubbed for Man vs. Wild show of Discovery Channel, in which he dubbed for Bear Grylls.[2][8] He also dubbed for Vijay in Master Hindi dubbed version.[9] He gave his voice for the 2022 Kannada film KGF: Chapter 2.[10] Sanket lent his voice for Indian and American films including Deadpool, in which he dubbed for Ryan Reynolds' character. He did voice acting for Suriya's Soorarai Pottru, Kaappaan, Jai Bhim, etc. He is the official Hindi voice behind Allu Arjun, Ram Pothineni and Jr NTR. Sanket has done voice acting for All Allu Arjun's films such as DJ: Duvvada Jagannadham, Sarrainodu, S/O Satyamurthy etc.[11]
In 2021, he did Hindi dubbing for Tamil actor Vishal starrer Chakra, which was released as Chakra Ka Rakshak (
