Sarel Hayward

Sarel Antonie Strydom Hayward (5 August 1924 in Steytlerville – 2 October 1999) was a South African politician, and a member of the ruling National Party, representing the constituency of Graaff-Reinet in parliament (1969-1984).
He has long served in the cabinet of P.W. Botha, first as Deputy Minister of Agriculture (1978-1980), Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries (1980-1982), Minister of Environmental Affairs, Water Affairs and Forestry (1982-1984) and finally as Minister of Agriculture and Water Affairs (1984-1986).
