Saroj Parida (born 15 August 1985) is an Indian actor who appears predominantly in Hindi and Odia films. He debuted in 2009 with a significant role in Un Hazaron Ke Naam[1]
Early life
Saroj was born on 15th August 1985 in a Hindu family in Jatni, Odisha. Saroj completed his schooling and college from Jatni. From his childhood, Saroj was inclined towards acting and dance. He participated in school dramas and dance programs and gradually started his theatre journey in his college days. He started participating in local theatre programs and enhanced his acting prowess under the guidance of various prominent theatre artists. Soon after graduation, Saroj started preparing for National School of Drama to achieve his dream. After intense preparation and struggle, Saroj was selected to NSD.
Career
After graduating from the National School of Drama, Saroj moved to Mumbai in 2009. After moving to Mumbai, Saroj debuted in Bollywood with a significant role in Un Hazaron Ke Naam - A film that recreates the horrific 26/11 terror attacks that took place in Mumbai in 2008. The movie gave him the opportunity to work along with veteran Bollywood actors like Vinod Khanna and Seema Biswas. While working in Bollywood, Saroj always kept his passion for theatre close to his heart and persistently indulged in various theatre workshops. In 2019, Saroj made his Ollywood debut with the film - Khusi, for which he was nominated for the category of Best Actor award in Odisha State Film Awards.
