Sarvatra Technologies is an Indian financial technological company that develops banking software.[2]
History[edit]
The company was formally founded on 22 June 2000 by Mandar Agashe.[3][4][5][6] It was previously established by the name EBZ Online,[7] a company developing banking software for his father's Suvarna Sahakari Bank.[8][9] In July 2003, EBZ Online launched Sarvatra, a banking software system, through the bank's 12 branches in Maharashtra.[10][11] The name Sarvatra Technologies was officially used for the company starting 2004.[12]
In 2010, the National Payments Corpostaion of India allowed Sarvatra to be the first Electronic Fund Transfer switch by an Application Service Provider to connect directly to NFS.[6][13]
In 2014, the company launched an ATM-POS terminal providing 104 Indian rural banks with core banking services. The company also launched credit and debit cards in partnership with RuPay that same year.[14][13]
By 2015, the company became an acclaimed payment service provider to the Indian rural/co-operative banking sector,[15] having brought 400 banks across 26 states on India's National Financial Switch by 2016.[16][17]
By 2018, the company was valued at rupees 40,000 crores.[18][19] That same year, it was further praised for having brought 450 co-operative banks on India's National Financial Switch.[20][21][22] That same year, it was reported that the company handled thirty percent of overall Immediate Payment Services transactions,[23] and would be further expanding into Unified Payments Interface and micro-ATMs.[24][25] The company won the Economic Times BFSI Innovation Tribe Award for 2018.[13]
In 2019, the company's EFT switch was awarded as the Best Banking Technology of 2019 by the Internet And Mobile Association Of India.[26][13]
