Satth
A satth or sath (Punjabi: ਸੱਥ) is an open space in a typical Punjabi village depicted as a platform for village folk and elders to congregate and to socialise and/or to hold panchayat (village council) in order to discuss issues and plan out decisions for the village.
They are found throughout the Punjabi regions of India and Pakistan, and a few regions of present-day Haryana.
A typical Satth is an elevated platform under the shade of a tree, typically a banyan tree, where village folk sit down, chat and play cards, etc.
Haryanvi satths are often shown to have community huqqas as well.
