Biography[edit]

His Grace Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa (formerly known as J V V Sathyanarayana Rao) was born in1972 in Rajahmundry, India. IIT Alumnus, he completed his M.Tech degree from IIT Chennai.He was working in American MNC, Novell Software as a Senior Software Engineer and then joined ISKCON Bangalore in 1997. He is one of the non-executive members of the Board of Trustees of Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir.[4]

Acheivements[edit]

His Grace Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa headed the construction of First Golden Temple of Telangana in Hyderabad.Through his Akshaya Patra organization he is heading various food distribution programmes like Annapoorna,Bhojanamrita and Saddimoota in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.[5]

The Hare Krishna Golden temple[edit]

After serving in ISKCON Bangalore for two decades His Grace Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa came to Hyderabad,Telangana to set up a temple of their Lordships Radha and Govinda, at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, India.It is the First Golden Temple of Telangana and was inaugurated in 2018 by Hon Vice President of India Sri Venkaiah Naidu Garu.[6][7]

The Akshaya Patra Foundation[edit]

October 2008 the first Akshaya Patra kitchen in Telangana The World's Largest NGO-Run was set up in Hyderabad under the leadership of His Grace Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa. The Foundation serves underprivileged children by providing mid-day meals at Government schools of Hyderabad. The centralised kitchen in all over India feeds wholesome mid-day meals to 3 Billion meals in schools. In the year 2018 The biggest and high-tech centralised mega Akshaya Patra kitchen in India was set up by his grace Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa and his team cojointly with the Infosys Foundation in Kandi, Telangana.[8].The kitchen’s inauguration was graced by Honourable Shri Kadiyam Srihari , Deputy Chief Minister & Education Minister, Telangana, Ms. Sudha Murty, Chairperson,Infosys Foundation[9].July 2019 His Grace Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa 's team The Akshaya Patra Foundation joined hands with CLP India, one of the largest foreign investors in the Indian power sector, inaugurated a centralised kitchen in Nawabpet Mahabubnagar district,Telangana. Annapoorna[edit]

The first Rs 5 meal was introduced in Telangana by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and was set up by his grace Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa and his team Hare Krishna Movement (HKM) at Kokapet.The scheme was called as Annapoorna.[11].Under Annapoorna scheme meal is provided at at various GHMC counters throughout Hyderabad,Telangana.[12].Their are about 150 GHMC Annapoorna food distribution Centers throughout Hyderabad.[13].

Bhojanamrita[edit]

Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), in collaboration with the His Grace Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa and his team along with the support of AP state government, initiated the ‘Bhojanamrita’ program, which aims at providing free mid-day meals to attendants of poor patients admitted in Government hospitals.The Hare Krishna Movement (HKM), which manages Bhojanamrita kitchens supply free food to government hospitals and subsidised food at counters.[14].

Saddimoota[edit]

With the partnership between MEIL Foundation and His Grace Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa team of Hare Krishna Movement, the management of MEIL sponsors a state government scheme called ‘Saddimoota’.The Saddimoota program aims at providing subsidized mid-day meals to farmers and laborers in market-yards located across various towns in the state of Telangana.MEIL is currently sponsoring Saddimoota Program in the towns of Siddipet, Gajwel, and Vantimamidi. [15]

Inspiration[edit]

The teachings of Srila Prabhupada,the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON and the Inspiration behind the Akshaya Patra programme has been sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa's guiding light throughout his journey as a missionary. Srila Prabhupada’s biography inspired His Grace Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa to join the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) also called the Hare Krishna Movement.
