Saugeen Stripper

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Saugeen Stripper is the moniker that has been given to the infamous 19-year-old woman who was the subject of a photo series in which she stripped for a group of college students at the University of Western Ontario (UWO), in London, Ontario, Canada. The incident occurred at one of the University's dormitories, the name of which is Saugeen-Maitland Hall.

The story behind the incident is not completely known[citation needed], however, in December 2005 Canadian media outlets such as the London Free Press and the National Post began reporting this story. Eventually it was picked up by US media outlets, the most notable being the Drudge Report. However, the story and the associated photographs made the most headway on the internet, where dozens of blogs became the source of information for most who wanted to learn about the story and see the photos.

The incident revolved around a birthday party for one of the men in the photos. The party supposedly occurred in October 2005. The real name of the woman in the photos is not known at this time, however it has been confirmed that she lived in the dormitory in which the incident occurred, and that the incident is completely authentic. According to UWO sources, the woman pictured was not acting in any way against her will, and was aware of the photographs being taken.

The incident sparked a national debate in the Canadian media about just how much power, or in reality how little, institutions of higher education actually have over what goes on in their buildings, particularly in instances such as this in which all participants were willing, and the activities were not explicitly forbidden in housing rules and regulations.
