Saurabh Tiwary is an Indian-American technology executive working in the fielf of Deep Learning. He is currently a Distinguished Engineer and Vice President at Microsoft. He leads Microsoft's deep learning initiative called Project Turing. He is also an advisor for AI-at-scale to M12 ( Microsoft Venture Fund).[1]

Career and education[edit]

Saurabh Tiwary received a doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University in Computer Engineering under the supervision of Rob A. Rutenbar in 2006. He has an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and an MBA from Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley[2]

Before joining Microsoft, he worked at Cadence Research Labs and Google.

His team built the 17 billion parameter Turing Natural Language Generation model (T-NLG)[3] which was the largest model before GPT-3 [4]
