Sayyid Muhammad Koya Jamalullail (born 1970), is a promient Islamic scholar and leader of Sunni community of southern India.[1][2][3]

He serves as General Secratary, Sunni Yuvajana Sangam, Director, Suprabhaatham Daily, Vice President, Darul Huda Islamic University, State Ameer, Majlisunnoor.[4][5]

Title Jamalullail (جمل الليل) (also pronounced as Jamal Al-Layl in Arabic) clan was of Hadhrami Arab origin and founded as an offshoot from the greater Alawi lineage in the 15th century. The name "Jamal Al-Layl" is loosely translated into English as "beauty of the night".

Life and Career[edit]

Sayyid Muhammad Koya Jamalullail was born in 1975. He completed his Post Graduate degree in Islamic Studies from Jami'ya Nooriya Arabic College, Perinthalmanna (Moulavi Fazil Faizi). He was declared as Grand Qazi of Calicut by respected Umerali Shihab Thangal, Panakkad at the Qasi Ascension Conference held at Idiyankara, Kozhikode on January 11th, 2008 in the honorable presence of scholars. Today, he accommodates as Qazi about 300 mahals inside and outside Kerala.[6][7][8] He is additionally the General Secretary of the Sunni Yuvajana Sangam (SYS) State Committee, the Vice President of Darul Huda Islamic University Chemmad, the Director of Suprabhatam Daily, the State Majlisunnoor Ameer, the Manager of Islahul Uloom Arabic College Tanoor, the founder of Hasaniya Arabic College Anangadi and the Principal of Manhajur Rashad Islamic College Chelembra.[9] He Traveled abroad to Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Oman,China, Malaysia , and Indonesia. Today, Sayyid is a highly blessed presence of leadership to the Muslim communities of Kerala. [10]
