Scanbot SDK (legal name doo GmbH) is a software development company founded in 2011 in Bonn, Germany. Its main product, a software development kit of the same name, allows for integration of scanning and data extraction functionalities into existing mobile applications.[1][2]

The Scanbot SDK comprises three modules: A barcode scanner, a document scanner, and a data extraction tool, all of which utilize machine learning algorithms. Each of these modules can be integrated into mobile or web apps individually or in combination.[3]

History[edit]

In the early years of the company, its focus lay on developing the document management software “doo”.[2]

In 2014, after pivoting from document management to image scanning, it released the document scanner app Scanbot for iOS and Android devices.[4]

In 2020, the app was sold to focus on the B2B solution Scanbot SDK.[5][6][7]

Awards[edit]

The company appeared on Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Award list of fastest-growing technology companies in Germany for twice consecutive years: In 2020 on rank 34, and in 2021 on rank 26.[8][9]

In 2021, the company ranked 719th on the Financial Times’ list of Europe's fastest-growing companies.[10]

In 2021 and 2022, Scanbot appeared on FinTech Global's annual AIFinTech 100 list of must-know companies.[11][12]
