Scarlet Sofia Spencer (born February 28, 2007) is an child actress in the U.S. She portrayed Ivy in Nickelodeon sitcom series Cousins for Life, Xan in Netflix Shameless, and Izzy in the Netflix series BlackAF.[1]

Early life[edit]

Spencer was born February 28, 2007, in Washington, D.C. She moved with her parents to Los Angeles, where she currently lives.

Career[edit]

Scarlet started her career by going to numerous film schools and participating in theatre productions. She has featured in many commercials and modelling shoots. In 2018, she was casted for a role in nickeledeon series Cousins for Life as Ivy.[2][3][4] In 2019, it was announced that Scarlet Spencer had landed the role of Izzy in Netflix series BlackAF alongside Kenya Barris, Rashida Jones, Iman Benson and others which was released in 2020.[5][6][7] She has also featured in Netflix Bright as Sofia Ward alongside Will Smith, Joel Edgerton and Noomi Rapace among others.[8][9]

She has also had roles in Awkward as the cute girl, and Promising Young Woman, where she had minor roles.
