SchooLinks, Inc. is an American college and career readiness platform with headquarters in Austin, Texas. It offers college and career exploration for middle and high school students and uses AI to match students with the colleges based on their personalities and interests..[1]. Users take a "Tinder-like" personality survey that matches students with career interests based on how they swiped[1]. Students are matched to colleges and universities based on academic history and goal data that they provide[2]. Students can also organize colleges they're interested in onto wishlists and view those colleges application deadlines on a personal calendar[2]. School districts can use accountability tools monitor college and career readiness[3].
SchooLinks was founded in 2014 and was originally a subscription-free site for students[4]. In order to scale, it pivoted to sell subscriptions to schools and school districts[1]. In 2015 it was accepted into Austin-based accelerator Capitol Factory[1]. As of 2017, it had raised $1.3 million and served about 200,000 students across five states[1]. Charles Thornburgh, the CEO and founder of Civitas Learning Inc., is an angel investor[1].
Katie Fang is the CEO and founder of SchooLinks. She was named one of the Forbes 30 under 30 in the Education category in 2018[5]. Katie was inspired to start the company after working as a consultant for students applying to college[6]
