Sea Hagg Distillery is a small-batch distillery located in North Hampton, New Hampshire. The distillery is known for producing craft spirits such as Sea Hagg Silver Rum.[1]

History

Sea Hagg Distillery was founded in 2011 by husband and wife Ron Vars and Heather Hughes.[2][3] Sea Hagg produces a variety of spiced rums, fruit rums, whisky, brandy and eau de vie.[4] Its products include Blueberry Rum, Strawberry Rum and Emerald Isle Moonshine.[5] In 2015, Sea Hagg introduced Plaice Cove Whiskey and a seasonal Apple Brandy.[6] The distillery purchases produce from New England fruit growers to flavor its spirits.[7]

In 2016, Sea Hagg petitioned the New Hampshire Liquor Commission to classify Smuttynose beer as a raw ingredient so that Sea Hagg could legally distill it into schnapps or hopped whisky. This request was denied.[8] Sea Hagg was named "New Hampshire Distillery of the Year" by the NHLC in 2016.[9]
